More Hungarians Migrating To UK

Hungary is in tenth place in a new ranking of the native country of recent immigrants to the UK, Magyar Hírlap reports, citing England’s Daily Mail newspaper. Last year 18,110 Hungarians – 0.18% of the population – applied for a UK social security number.
Corresponding figures are 1.1% of Lithuanians, 0.9% of Latvians, and 0.35% of Irish citizens.
Hungary’s figure is identical to Slovakia’s and similar to the 0.17% of Bulgaria and 0.16% of Portugal.
In terms of numbers, Poland provided the most immigrants to the UK last year, at 79,140.
