Police Officer Witnessed Brutal Beating In Hungary
A police officer witnessed the beating in police custody of Romanian József Bara at the Izsák police station last Monday, which ended in the victim’s death, the tabloid Bors reports. A staff sergeant who was at the police station reportedly appeared during the interrogation and warned the officers not to use violence.

Prosecutors would neither deny nor confirm the report.

The two policemen have been fired and remain in detention.

They had detained Bara in regard to a chainsaw stolen from a neighbour last August. They wanted Bara to confess to the crime.

Bara’s brother said he was almost unrecognisable after the beating.
