Budapest Named 'Most Liveable City in Eastern Europe'
Budapest rose by seven places to 32nd on the annual list of the world’s most liveable cities, compiled by the UK’s Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU).

Budapest’s rating improved the most in the past 12 months, as the city collected 92 of the maximum 100 points available.

Vienna came out on top with 98.4 points, ahead of Copenhagen, Zürich and Melbourne.

The Hungarian capital was the most liveable city in Eastern Europe, ahead of Prague and Bratislava.

It also ranked ahead of such cities as Seattle, Chicago, Brussels and Madrid.

The EIU compared the quality of life in 173 cities from the point of view of stability, healthcare services, culture and environment, education and infrastructure.

Overall, Western Europe is the most liveable region in the world, as the average score of the region’s 30 cities on the list was 92.
