Crime Rising In Downtown Budapest Districts
More than 25% of ordinary crimes registered last year were committed in Budapest, as reported crime in the city rose by 10%, the Prosecutor’s Office revealed. Budapest’s Fifth and Sixth districts were the most crime-infested areas in 2012, while the 16th District was the safest in the city.

In the countryside, Fejér and Somogy counties experienced the highest crime levels, with Vas, Tolna and Zala counties at the safest end of the scale.

Overall, 17.6% fewer crimes were registered in Hungary last year.
