Hungary's PM Orbán Warns Against Complacency
Prime Minister Viktor Orbán warned Fidesz MPS that they cannot relax ahead of next year’s parliamentary elections, as he addressed a caucus meeting which got under way in Visegrád Wednesday evening. Orbán removed five constituency leaders, saying he was dissatisfied with their work.

No matter how good the opinion poll results are, no one can sit back, he said. An MP told HVG that Orbán was referring to 2002, when Fidesz narrowly lost the elections when it had been in power.

A lot of work lies ahead in individual constituencies, Orbán told the gathering, as that is where the 2014 elections will have to be won.

He said utility rate cuts will be the party’s most important campaign weapon.

In addition, Orbán said the Socialists will lose in 2014 because they are unable to make the most of their opportunities.
