Northwest Stretch Of Budapest Ring Road Could Be Completed By 2020
An 8km stretch of Hungary’s busiest motorway, the M0 ring road around the capital, is planned to be built between 2018 and 2020, daily Népszabadság said. The stretch, on the northwest side of Budapest, is to include 5.2km of tunnels and a bridge spanning a valley near Budakalász, the paper said.

The environmental permit for the construction of the stretch has already been obtained, it said, and a tender to plan the organisation of other permits for the project could be called in the first quarter of next year.

The plans for the motorway could be completed by the autumn of 2015, and the building permit could be awarded in the spring of 2016.

On its website, the National Development Ministry published a draft government decree on the planned route of the ring road section to be built. The ministry proposes that the new road should connect Budakalász, Üröm, Pilisborosjenő and Solymár with Budapest. Construction could start in 2017 at the earliest, the website said.
