Opposition Rally In Budapest Cancelled
The left-wing alliance called off its Saturday afternoon rally, at which five party leaders were due to speak, due to fears of a storm, as conditions grew increasingly windy. The alliance reached the decision after consulting with police.

Socialist president Attila Mesterházy announced at the nearby Petõfi statue that the alliance will hold a rally on March 30.

When Liberal Party president Gábor Fodor held an impromptu rally on Március 15 tér, he was gradually joined by former prime ministers Ferenc Gyurcsány and Gordon Bajnai in what developed into a spontaneous rally.
