Conference In Budapest  Held In Secret  On Energy Security In Central Europe
US energy affairs envoy Carlos Pascual chaired a closed conference of Ukrainian and Central European countries in Budapest yesterday on the topic of energy security in the region. The conference was kept a secret until after the fact because of the security of the large number of participants.

“Everybody who counts” from various countries from the US to Ukraine took part in the two-day conference, a source told news website Index.
 
The European Commission and the European Foreign Affairs service were also represented at the meeting.
 
Ukrainian Energy Minister Yuri Prodan met separately with Foreign Minister Tibor Navracsics, but the subject of discussion was not revealed.
 
Prodan also conferred with the representatives of the Visegrád Four, as well as Bulgaria, Croatia Romania, and the US.
