Norway Summons Hungarian Ambassador
Hungarian ambassador Géza Jeszenszky was summoned to the Norwegian Foreign Ministry in Oslo on Wednesday to explain Hungary’s actions regarding the Norway Grant funds, after government agents raided the offices of three recipient organisations on Monday.

Jeszenszky said he was not surprised by the summons, as the dispute has received considerable attention in Norway.

The government alleges that recipients of the funds have links to Hungarian opposition parties. It reportedly drew up a list of such agencies, including Transparency International, the Hungarian Civil Liberties Union and transparency website Átlátszó.

Jeszenszky would not make a statement to Népszabadság afterwards, saying that he only played the part of a “postman”.
