Hungarian Official: EU Must Adhere To Its Own Rules

Unless the European Union adheres to its own rules it will experience severe problems, the Hungarian state secretary for EU affairs said in Baile Tusnad (Tusnádfürdő), central Romania, on Friday.
In her lecture at the 25th Bálványos Summer Free University and Student Camp, Enikő Győri referred to the recent election of Jean-Claude Juncker as EC president. If countries start interpreting the law “in too broad a sense, that could be dangerous”, she said.
Hungary, alongside Britain, did not support Juncker at the recent election.
Speaking of the crisis in Ukraine, she said the bloc’s reaction has been fast enough. However, the EU should show more unity when it comes to international issues, she added.
