Hungarian Daily Magyar Nemzet Urges Seszták To Quit
An editorial in Magyar Nemzet today calls on Development Minister Miklós Seszták to step down, due to his links with offshore companies. Seszták has argued that companies registered in Cyprus are not offshore companies, as they are incorporated in the EU, the editorial notes.

Magyar Nemzet says this is exactly the type of defence that former central bank governor András Simor used when similar accusations were levelled at him by right-wing politicians and media.

The editorial says Seszták could conceivably be the best development minister of all time, but right-wing and centrist voters bitterly recall the not so distant “Eight Years” of 2002-10, adding that the present political system came about in response to and against that period.

The item concludes “A ministry based on scams, legal loopholes and fraud? No. This is why the minister should step aside.”
