Strasbourg Court Rules Against Hungary For Violating Human Rights
The European Court of Human Rights has ruled against Hungary in six cases in which the country’s rules or procedures were seen as violating the European Convention on Human Rights.

Three out of the six cases were initiated by members of the Hungarian Workers’ Party, whom the Hungarian courts had ruled against for wearing Communist symbols, which was then seen in Strasbourg as a violation of the freedom of expression.

In two other cases, filed by former state employees who had been obliged to pay a 98% super-tax on their severance payments, the European court said that Hungary had violated the protection of private property.

In the last case, the Strasbourg court ruled in favour of a former psychiatric patient, who had been kept in a mental asylum against his own will.
