Klaus’s Ex-Advisor Warns Hungary Against Defiant Posture
Hungary should be cautious when dealing with Washington or Brussels, a consultant of former Czech president Václav Klaus told Hungarian public television. Petr Hájek said Hungary must exercise caution or if it continues to be “defiant” with Washington and Brussels, it should be “prepared for anything”.

The former advisor said that the West had been able to topple the Czech Necas government, Hájek said, adding that the Orbán government now is just as “defiant” then there was no Ukraine crisis, he said, adding that the interests of the US and EU had tripled since then.

Orbán’s government makes much more independent decisions than Necas had at the time. This could lead to events which can topple the Orbán, he insisted.
