HIPA Hails €1.6bn Of Investments In Hungary
State investment promotion agency HIPA supported 60 projects that together brought €1.6 billion of foreign investment to Hungary last year, president Róbert Ésik announced at a Monday press conference.

The €1.6 billion invested exceeds the 2013 figure by 35%, he underlined, while the number of jobs created was up 50% at nearly 11,000.

Of the 60 projects, 32 were expansions and 28 were new investments.

Ésik stressed that Poland had only 54 and Slovakia had 25 foreign investment projects last year.

American investments created 2,729 jobs, Indian ones 1,575 and German ones 1,431.

HIPA is currently working on 96 projects that could create 18,400 jobs by investing €2.5 billion, Ésik added.
