Cocaine Hidden In Washing Machine Parts Seized At Budapest Airport
Customs officers at Budapest’s Liszt Ferenc airport have seized 800 grammes of cocaine hidden in a package that included washing machine parts, the national police headquarters said on its website on Tuesday, adding that two foreign nationals have been arrested.

The package containing the drugs arrived from India and it was seized on Jan. 25. Police have since started proceedings against an Indian and a Nigerian citizen, the statement said.

The two suspects, L Tarsem from India and A Stephen from Nigeria, were arrested in Budapest on Jan. 30.

During a house search, police found evidence revealing previous cocaine shipments totalling 1,000 gramms. The street value of 1.8 kg of cocaine is around 25 million forints (EUR 80,000).
