See What Happened @ Budapest Fish Festival
This was a big festival, and for those who love fish and fish dishes this was the place to go. The Hortobágyi Fish Farm’s crew and the capitals of fish soups - Szeged and Baja - were on show. You could also find local restaurants and the best of the country’s street food restaurants.

The 3rd Budapest Fish Festival’s featured region was the Balaton and the festival’s fish was the zander this year. The Hungarian Cuisine has expanded its repertoire to meet the foreign trends at this event, so besides the delicacies from Balaton, you could taste Asian recipes, French fish soup, Russian caviar and special Bulgarian and Portuguese fish products.

“It is not a secret that when we planned the event three years ago, our main purpose was to encourage the people’s fish consumption, to point out its beneficial effects on our heath and strengthen its role in the Hungarian gastronomy”- said István Necz, head organizer of the Budapest Fish Festival.

I think this won’t be the last time this wonderful array of gastro delights will be there for us all to try.
