Budapest To Host Intl Forum On Europe Demographics
- 3 Nov 2015 8:00 AM
Budapest will host a three-day international forum on Europe’s population decline, Human Resources Minister Zoltán Balog said. Representatives from 18 countries will attend the forum, which is set to start on November 5 and will be opened by Prime Minister Viktor Orbán. Several European ministers and politicians are scheduled to address the forum.
Polish President Andrzej Duda and Pope Francis will also address the conference via prerecorded messages.
Balog reiterated Hungary’s stance that migration is not the answer to the region’s population decline, but Europe should instead aim to find a solution to the problem from within by strengthening and supporting families.
