Hungarian Wine Maker Guilty Of Murdering Thief
A man who poured anti-freeze into his homemade sour cherry wine to punish thieves has been sentenced to seven years in prison after one of his victims died. The incident occurred in Vácszentlászló in 2013 when the 37-year-old man saw his wine being stolen and decided to teach the thief a lesson. He bought five litres of anti-freeze at a filling station on October 24, of which he poured one or two litres into a barrel containing sour cherry wine.

The thief again stole some of the wine on October 25 and gave some of it to friends.

The others suffered poisoning but the thief was hospitalised with severe poisoning and died a few days later.

The thief also used some designer drugs after drinking.

The verdict is open to appeal.
