Eurostat Finds Poverty In Hungary Rising
The number of Hungarians exposed to poverty and exclusion has risen to 31.7% of the population from 28.8% in 2008, according to Eurostat data. At present there are more than 40,000 local council flats in Budapest, one in ten is vacant and a large part of them could be placed in a position where they could be let, Népszabadság writes.

In Budapest 53.7% of flats are let as a social benefit, but the figure is lowest in the Eighth and Sixth Districts, at 9% each.
