Uber States Its Case In Full-Page Ads
App-based taxi company Uber has taken out full-page advertisements in Népszabadság and Világgazdaság today, arguing against the government’s ban on its service. The ad states that Uber has 150,000 users in Hungary and provides work to 1,200 honest taxpaying people, arguing that it is wrong to ban something that is loved by users.

The company offers its co-operation in developing modern, 21st-century regulations.

Hungary can easily be first in developing a digital economy that requires dialogue, good regulations and right decisions Uber underlines.

Tax officials have checked 250 Uber taxis so far this year, levying Ft 3.6 million in fines, and found 20 drivers with no tax number, Népszabadság reports.

Tax officials working with police have removed the number plates from four Uber cars.
