Introducing Hungary's Twickel Wine Estate
Let us introduce you to Twickel Winery winery from Szekszárd. They will be one of our guest wineries at the next Xpat Wine Club event on 14th July at Hilton Budapest.

We believe that staying true to the utmost values of nobility and a mind-set bridging several generations, helps us to be a reliable and high quality winery for a long time. We make our wines with the deepest respect and they help to create the perfect moment once they are opened: assisting a deep conversation, a rendezvous, or evoking shared memories.

Today Baron Georg von Twickel lives in the Kajmád wilderness near Szekszárd with his wife and four daughters. His mother, Mária Terézia, Countess Zichy, came from the main line of the renowned Hungarian family of nobles, but was forced to leave the country in 1956.

The history of the business operating on 200 ha can be traced back to 1993, when the Countess returned to Hungary and set up the winery.

Wines offered at the Xpat Wine Club on 14 July at Hilton Budapest

Kajmád Sauvignon Blanc 2015 – A wine with elderflower’s aroma and dominate green tinges style. An elegant wine, which is an adequate pairing for any white fish and grilled vegetable meal. Recommended serving temperature 8-10 °C.

Kajmád Rosé Cuvée 2015 – Besides the perfectly chosen harvest date, this salmon-coloured rosé cuvée is born due to the ideal blending of Merlot, Kékfrankos and Pinot Noir. Its flavour is dominated by fresh strawberry and raspberry aroma. Its smooth, fruity taste is chersied by vivid acidity with a long finish.

Kajmád Cabernet Franc 2012 – An elegant, striking velvety bodied red wine with rich aroma and medium-long finish. Its deep ruby colour and cherry aroma seduces lovers of this type. Recommended at 14-16 °C with smoked and matured meat, hard cheeses and dishes with forest fruits.
