Guest Nights Up 5.3% In August

The number of guest nights spent in Hungarian hotels and guesthouses rose by an annual 5.3% to 4,379,000 in August, the Central Statistical Office (KSH) said. Guest nights spent by Hungarians climbed by 6.8% to 2,384,000, while foreign visitors spent 1,995,000 nights, up 3.6%.
Revenue increased by 5.6% to 49 billion forints.
At hotels, revenue per available room rose by 6.5% to 13,636 forints.
The average room price was up 4.9% at 18,859 forints.
The occupancy rate at hotels grew by 1.1 percentage points to 72.3%.
In January-August, guest nights were up 5.5% year on year at 19,628,000.
Guest nights spent by Hungarians rose by 6.9% to 10,102,000 and guest nights spent by foreigners climbed by 4% to 9,526,000.
