French Expats Robbed & Assaulted By Fake Police
Police have captured two Hungarians who posed as policemen in order to rob French students in Budapest on Tuesday night. In the incident on Dob utca in the Seventh District, the pair told five French students that they were police officers and pretended to produce official identification.

One offender tried to steal a woman’s handbag and reached into the pockets of a man who rushed to her defence.

He took a mobile phone and personal documents and then assaulted the man.

His companion meanwhile pushed another man into a doorway and tried to take his belongings, then beat him up when he put up resistance.

The two assailants then got into a car with foreign licence plates and drove off. Police found the vehicle in the Eighth District and detained the two men in an apartment.
