Hungarian Voters Rate Democracy
Hungarian voters gave a lukewarm 2.7 out of 5 grade, on average, when asked to rate their level of satisfaction with the functioning of Hungarian democracy, according to a representative survey conducted by Index and Závecz Research.

Along with those with little schooling and the elderly, Fidesz supporters are the most satisfied, but even they only gave an average rating of 3.

Budapest residents rate democracy in Hungary much lower than the average,

Less than 25% of Hungarians gave a rating of 4 or 5, and more gave grades of 1 or 2.

Závecz interviewed 1,000 people about the importance of democracy, its operation in Hungary and which of its elements they were most and least satisfied with.

The results of the survey confirm a growing faultline between Budapest and the provinces, as well as the educated and those with low schooling.
