EP Committee Head: Delegation Made Routine Visit To Hungary
A delegation of the European Parliament’s budgetary control committee should make more frequent visits to Hungary in the future in order to prevent that visits are seen in a “sensationalist manner”, the head of the committee Ingeborg Grassle said.

The delegation consisted of nine MEPs and representatives of the European Audit Office and the European Commission. This was the second visit to Hungary after 2011, Grassle told a press conference in Budapest.

We should come more often in order to prevent the sensationalist manner of the visits,” she said. The committee has made a normal, ordinary working visit, focusing on controlling the utilisation of structural funds, she added.

Between September 18-20, the delegation visited investment projects financed by the EU and held meetings with decision makers in the government as well as representatives of NGOs.
