Janos Hajdu, director-general of Hungary’s counter-terrorism force TEK and a former chief bodyguard of Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, was added on Friday to the Myrotvorets (Peacemaker) website, a database of Ukraine’s enemies run by civilian activists.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has effectively issued a death threat against Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, Péter Szijjártó, the foreign minister, declared at a public forum on Thursday in Sopron. "But Hungary cannot be blackmailed, no matter what threats are made," he said, adding that Zelensky had gone "beyond all limits".
Some 45% of Hungarians would prefer Péter Magyar as prime minister over Viktor Orbán, while 37% would favour the incumbent and 18% could not choose between the two, according to the results of a survey conducted by the Republikon Institute on February 12 -17.
Foreign-funded pressure groups are preparing to challenge the legitimacy of Hungary's election results, the Sovereignty Protection Office said in a statement.
