Budapest British International School ‘Breaking Of The Ground’ Ceremony
Recently the Budapest British International School held a “Breaking of the Ground” ceremony for their new Senior building, which will be opening in August 2019.

Iain Lindsay, British Ambassador to Hungary (pictured above), was the guest of honour and dug the first hole in the ground, using a ceremonial BBIS spade, together with managing director of BBIS, Petra Szalai (also pictured above).

After speeches from Principal Angela Fairs and Mr. Lindsay, students from Years 5-7 performed a version of the song ‘Hall of Fame’ to celebrate the symbolical start of the new and exciting building project.

The two modern, purpose built buildings have been designed to retain the family and student-centered ethos of BBIS and in accordance with British and International Standards.

The design of the interior will also be curriculum driven to provide the best learning spaces for students who will follow the IB MYP and DP curriculum.

This will include a new gym, science and prep room, library, art and music rooms as well as plenty of break out spaces for the students to collaborate.
