Hungarian Passport Among The World’s Most Powerful, Study Finds
A study published by the financial consultancy firm Arton Capital has found that Hungary shares the ninth position with Australia and the Czech Republic on the list of the world’s “best” travel documents, or the number of countries a passport of a given country enables its holder to travel to without a visa.

Those travelling with a Hungarian passport can travel to 138 countries around the world without obtaining a visa before arrival, which means that Hungary is one point – or country – behind New Zealand on the list.

The study has revealed that the US and Great Britain have the world’s best passports, valid for visa-free travel to 147 countries. They are followed by travel documents issued by France, Germany and South Korea in second position with 145 countries.

The least powerful passports are issued by Bhutan (40), Myanmar (28), Afghanistan (38), Iraq (38) and North Korea (44). Travel to and from these countries is known to be extremely difficult.

The world’s most powerful passports:

1. United Stes, United Kingdom (147)
2. France, South Korea, Germany (145)
3. Italy, Sweden (144)
4. Denmark, Singapore, Finland, Japan, Luxembourg, The Netherlands (143)
5. Switzerland (142)
