Six Charged With Human Smuggling In Hungary
The Budapest Public Prosecutor’s Office has brought charges against six people, accusing them of smuggling over 100 migrants across Hungary to Austria, Public Prosecutor Tibor Ibolya told MTI.

Of the six accused, one was a Pakistani national who had been granted asylum in Hungary, Ibolya said.

According to the charges, the five men and one woman operated as a criminal organisation to smuggle Afghan, Pakistani and Bangladeshi migrants to western Europe, mostly to the Austrian border.

They operated in 2016 and 2017, when four of them were taken into custody, the statement said. The prosecutor’s office is asking for prison sentences for all the accused.
