Car Burglaries, Robberies & More Crimes Down In Hungary During Covid-19 Epidemic
Crimes such as thefts, robberies and car burglaries dropped by nearly 42% in March after the state of emergency was declared, website Menedzsment Fórum reports.

It said such a conclusion can be drawn from figures on the police website.

The number of crimes registered by police shrank from 13,948 in the period of February 3 to March 3 to 9,808 between March 4 and April 3.

That represents a 42% drop in a period when, with the advent of pleasant weather, a richer terrain for crime usually opens as people leave their urban homes for the countryside at the weekend or leave the provinces or suburbs to visit cities.

In Budapest the number of known crimes dropped from 5,377 to 3,718 a 44% decline.
