The memorandum of understanding on this was signed in January between the airline and Budapest Airport, part of the Vinci Airports network, and the flights will operate from June to September 2025.
Kuwait’s leading low-cost carrier, Jazeera Airways, will launch a direct service between Budapest and the Kuwaiti capital operating twice a week, on Thursdays and Saturdays, between June 5 and September 25.
The new connection will primarily benefit those who are keen to explore India and the South Asian region, and is expected to play a role in boosting tourism to Hungary, thanks to the connectivity opportunities.
Kuwait is the seventh Middle Eastern destination with direct flights from Budapest, along with Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Israel, Jordan, Qatar and Saudi Arabia.
Francois Berisot, the CEO of Budapest Airport, said, “We are delighted to welcome Jazeera Airways to Hungary, a brand new airline joining the Budapest network. I am confident that the transfer options they offer will provide many Hungarian passengers with a long-awaited opportunity to explore India, for example, while also benefiting business travellers.
Moreover, the new flight will open up new horizons for the two countries not only in tourism, but also in terms of trade and the economy.”
