Home Prices Climb Steeply in Hungary this June

Home prices in Hungary rose 14pc year-on-year in June, listings site Ingatlan.com said.
In the capital, home prices climbed 19.4pc.
In month-on-month comparison, home prices edged up 1.3pc nationwide but were flat in Budapest.
Ingatlan.com analyst Laszlo Balogh said the home market's "engine" had moved from the capital and pointed to increasing demand in the east of the country, supported by big industrial developments and favourable prices.
Home prices in the Northern Great Plain region, the location of Debrecen, Hungary's second-biggest city, increased 15.4pc year-on-year in June. Prices in the Southern Great Plain region, where Szeged is located, climbed 16.5pc.
A recently announced subsidised credit scheme for first-time home buyers could boost activity on the market in the capital when it launches in September, Balogh said.
