Hungary is home to multiple popular summer music festivals, each with its own unique vibe and offerings. From pulsating techno vibes, to traditional Hungarian ‘dance house’, to chart-topping international acts, here's the ultimate quick guide to the season's best fests.

1. Vénégy Festival, Nagymaros, 2 - 5 July



The VéNégy Festival and Theatre Meeting in Nagymaros - nestled along the stunning Danube Bend - will once again bring together music lovers with an electrifying line-up of over 40 performances across four stages.

2. Kolorádó Festival, Nagykovácsi,  2–5 July 2025



Kolorádó takes place in a forested area near Budapest and focuses on sustainability, nature, and community. It includes music, art, and environmental awareness. Acts typically include Hungarian artists like Carson Coma, Elefánt, Red Axes, and Analog Balaton.

3. Duna-part Feszt, Ráckeve3–5 July 2025



This is a three-day pop music festival held in Ráckeve, a town along the Danube. It primarily features young Hungarian artists. Scheduled performers include Valmar, K. Kevin, Dead Money, and Desh.

4. Bánkitó Festival, Bánk, 9–12 July



Set in the town of Bánk, this festival focuses on local music and theatre. Its music programme highlights contemporary Hungarian acts, with a line-up including 30Y, Carson Coma, Analog Balaton, Elefánt, and Co Lee. The event is also known for its environmentally conscious ethos.

5. Katlan Festival, Arzenál Budapest,  11–14 July



Katlan is an electronic music festival held in a former quarry in Tárnok. It features techno, house, and other sub-genres, with performances both from established international DJs and emerging local talent.

6. Utcazene Festivál, Veszprém 17 - 19 July



A free street-music festival in Veszprém city centre, featuring live performances across multiple stages. It attracts both locals and tourists.

7. Ozora Festival, Dádpuszta, 25 July - 5 August



A psychedelic‑trance and transformational arts festival near Dádpuszta (Ozora). Held since 2004 (except pandemic years), it draws around 30 000–70 000 participants. The focus is on electronic music and immersive art experiences.

8. MCC Feszt 20, Esztergom, 31 July–2 August



A three‑day multidisciplinary event in Esztergom, organised by Mathias Corvinus Collegium. It blends intellectual panels, cultural activities, and music. The 2025 edition (31 July–2 August) will feature speakers like Dominic Cummings and Ayaan Hirsi Ali, alongside live local music.

9. Sziget Festival, Budapest, 6 – 11 August



Sziget is one of Hungary’s largest and most internationally recognised festivals. Held on Hajógyári Island in Budapest, it offers a wide range of music and cultural activities. While the focus is on music, the event also includes parades, art installations, and various performances.

This year’s line-up includes: Post Malone, Nelly Furtado, Armin van Buuren, Anyma, Boris Brejcha, and Chappell Roan.

10. SZIN Festival, Szeged, 27 - 30 August



The Szeged Open Air Festival (“SZIN”) is one of Hungary’s largest local music festivals, held in Szeged. It offers a mix of genres and has grown significantly since its start.
