Core Winter Upgrades

Equipment for the new four-seater chairlift (from Austria's Doppelmayr) arrived in late 2023–early 2024, with construction awaiting final permits; it joins 9 existing lifts, including a prior panorama model operational since late 2025.
 

Plans add a 1.5 km family ski run (Hungary's longest), doubles the ski school area with magic carpets, enhances rentals/food services, and improves snowmaking (46 cannons covering 10 hectares in 3–4 days).

Broader Developments

Shifting to a four-season resort extends the 2.5–3 month winter season to 10 months via summer alpine playgrounds (by mid-2026), mountain bike trails, expanded reservoirs for rainwater reuse, and future connections to nearby Mátraszentlászló slopes for a "ski circuit."

Recent awards like the Telekessy Prize highlight sustainability efforts, including energy-efficient snow guns and renewables.

Current Status (Feb 2026)

The park, now in its 21st season, saw record January crowds (>25,000 tickets) with 3.3 km slopes, 9 lifts, and 30–50 cm snowpack; full capacity continues into February amid strong domestic tourism. No construction start reported yet, but site prep (e.g., power upgrades) advances.

Easily reachable from Budapest (~100 km), it's family-focused with instruction, night skiing, and events like FIS competitions.
