Growing Business Confidence in Hungary - GKI

Business sentiment improved and consumer confidence was little changed in Hungary in September, a monthly gauge by economic research institute GKI shows.
GKI's business confidence index rose to -8.3 points in September from -9.1 in the previous month. Sentiment worsened in the construction, commerce and business services sectors, but improved in the industrial sector.
The survey showed 8pc of companies plan to make new hires in the coming three months and 12pc expect to reduce headcount.
GKI's consumer confidence index edged down to -3.8 points in September from -3.7 in the previous month. Households' assessment of the economy worsened slightly, and fewer households planned to make big-ticket purchases.
GKI's combined gauge of business and consumer confidence inched up to -7.1 points in September from -7.7 points in the previous month.
