Since its launch in 2017, this annual gathering has focused on promoting the essentials of animal welfare through hands-on experiences. The day offers a chance for visitors to meet dogs currently up for adoption, learn about the world of carrier pigeons, and engage with various animal demonstrations and interactive workshops.

Programs for All Ages

The schedule is designed to keep both children and adults engaged. Younger visitors can enjoy musical performances, concerts, and themed games, while adults are invited to attend educational presentations. According to the organizers, the lineup also includes guided tours of the kennels, craft workshops, and a dedicated "Cat Café Zoo."

The stage will feature a variety of entertainment, including an interactive fairy tale performance titled The Salt by the Majorka Theater, and a musical medley from the upcoming production JÓKUTYÁK. There will also be a concert specifically for small children by the band Buborék, along with raffle drawings throughout the day.

Education and Expert Advice

For those looking to improve their pet-care skills, several presentations will cover canine behavior and the fundamentals of caring for cats and guinea pigs.

The event will also introduce the Gazdijogsi program, a local educational initiative designed to guide owners through the responsibilities of pet parenting. Various animal welfare organizations and professional partners will be on-site with interactive booths to answer questions and provide resources.

Practical Information for Visitors

Admission to the event is free, though please note that a separate ticket is required to enter the recently opened Kutyaverzoom exhibition.

Expats are welcome to bring their own dogs to Rex Animal Island, provided the animals are well-socialized and their vaccinations are fully up to date.
