‘White Wines, Colorful Culture’: Wine Days in Tokaj, 5 – 6 June
With a renewed approach and this year involving the entire town, the well renowned ‘Tokaj Wine Days’ will welcome visitors to NE Hungary this weekend under the theme "White Wines, Colorful Culture," the organisers said this week.

The annual event series returns to Tokaj’s main square following a two-year renovation, marking a major renewal of the historic town centre. Organisers said the upgraded space now offers a refreshed layout, improved services, and a more welcoming environment for both locals and visitors.

They emphasised that the key message of this year’s festival is to bring life into Tokaj’s momentous streets and squares, noting that the celebration is not centred on a single venue but on the entire town itself in 2026.

Alongside Kossuth Square, programmes will be hosted across Tokaj’s cellars, wine bars, terraces, and restaurants, offering a more intimate and experience-driven format compared to traditional fair-style events.

The aim is to connect visitors directly with local winemakers and hospitality providers while showcasing the renewed town centre.

Kossuth Square will host concerts and cultural programmes throughout the weekend, alongside the open-air exhibition “40 Years in Pictures,” which reflects on Tokaj regaining town status four decades ago. Evening light shows will also illuminate the main square.

Wineries and restaurants across the Tokaj Wine Region will join the programme with tastings, culinary demonstrations, and special events tied to the festival.
