Independent Record Label Fair in Budapest, 12 September
Music lovers can dig into Hungary’s independent scene at the 10th such fair in Budapest, bringing together 65 local record labels for a shopping party of vinyl, CDs, cassettes, live music, DJ sets and workshops.

Taking place at the House of Music Hungary in City Park, the free event is a chance to discover releases from across the country’s underground and alternative music scene, with labels selling their records directly to visitors.

The selection available covers a wide range of styles, while some labels will also offer limited-edition and harder-to-find releases.

The fair runs from 10:00 to 17:00, with the programme extending well beyond record shopping. Visitors can watch a vinyl-cutting workshop, create their own record-cover collage and explore the accompanying photography exhibition.

The music programme on the outdoor stage features a varied line-up of DJ sets, live acts and experimental performances.

Highlights include avant-garde electronic artist Laurine Frost, post-punk group Das Lator, experimental prog-rock/free-jazz outfit Kada Ad Libitum and DJ sets from artists connected with labels including Budapest Vinyl, Hermina Records and Tapes Sublimating.

There is also a programme of talks and discussions covering subjects such as analogue sound, hip-hop photography, independent music publishing and the changing world of record shops.

A free after-party continues the fun at Pontoon by the Danube, from 19:00 - 04:00, featuring a live performance by Fedora & the Worldstylers alongside DJs Chewby, Gnork, Klark Can't, oneeyedman and Vike.
