Wildlife Conservation Showcase at Budapest Zoo on World Animal Day
Visitors can meet experienced wildlife rescuers, conservation experts and key environmental organisations at Budapest Zoo and Botanical Garden on Saturday 3 October, when a special programme will bring Hungary's wildlife protection efforts into focus in an engaging way.

From 10:00 to 16:00, the zoo will host activity and information stations covering birds, insects, forests, biodiversity, environmental protection and weather.

Participating organisations include the Hungarian Ornithological and Nature Conservation Society, WWF Hungary, the Hungarian Environmental Education Association, and the Forest Rescuers Foundation.

Other participants include Sárosi Beekeeping, the Hungarian Entomological Society, the Hungarian Biological Society, Active Hungary and the Hungarian Hiking Association, offering visitors a variety of perspectives on wildlife and the natural environment.

The zoo's 'Wildlife Rescue' team and education staff will also be on hand, so visitors can learn more about the rescue and care of injured and orphaned animals, as well as the wider conservation work carried out by the zoo.

World Animal Day is officially observed on 4 October, the feast day of St Francis of Assisi, traditionally associated with animals and nature. The programme here takes place on the preceding Saturday, allowing families and other visitors to combine the activities with a regular visit to the zoo.

There is no separate admission charge for the programme. It is included in the standard zoo admission price.

Adult admission is HUF 5,900, while children aged 2–18, students and seniors with valid identification pay HUF 4,200. Children under two pay HUF 400. Family tickets are also available, and all tickets can be purchased online in advance.

Address:
Budapest Zoo and Botanical Garden is located at Állatkerti körút 6–12 in District XIV, next to City Park and Heroes' Square. It is easily accessible from Széchenyi fürdő station on the M1 metro line.
