Lucie Juránková had the honor of representing the Academy of Performing Arts in Kyoto, Japan, during her studies.

She also had the privilege of performing at the renowned Opern Air Festspiele in Gars am Kamp. Apart from making a mark in the international opera scene, Lucie showcases her talent as a concert performer and actor on both national and international stages.

Lucie Juránková's exceptional singing and acting abilities caught the attention of esteemed Czech director Jiří Menzel, who handpicked her for the role of Eva in his film Donšajni. This film premiered in 2013 and earned an Oscar. Lucie Juránková's passion for her craft led her to embark on a captivating dance opera project in the same year.

In 2017, Lucie joined forces with her talented colleague, Czech opera singer Magda Vitková, to form the dynamic duo known as MY2. Together, they collaboratively create and deliver captivating performances under this moniker.

1. When did you arrive in Hungary and what brought you here?

My husband‘s job 3 years ago.

2. Have you ever been an expatriate elsewhere?

My husband worked in Germany but I lived in Prague with my daughter.

3. What surprised you most about Hungary?

Beautiful nature and sour cream on langos, love it.

4. Friends are in Budapest for a weekend - what must they absolutely see and do? 

City center – monuments, galleries and good food and drinks.

5. What is your favourite Hungarian food?

Langos, töpörtyű, töltött káposzta.

6. What is never missing from your refrigerator?

Wine, beer, ham, cheese.

7. What is your favourite Hungarian word?

Puszi, puszi

8. What do you miss most from home? 

I miss deep coniferous forests.

9. What career other than yours would you love to pursue?

Still the same – opera singer.

10. What's a job you would definitely never want?

Every job is needed, some are hard physically, others mentally. I admire the workers, working in the summer heat on the highway.

11. Where did you spend your last vacation?

Croatia Hvar Island.

12. Where do you hope to spend your next holiday?

I hope at the same place with my family.

13. Apart of temptation what can't you resist?

Food and good dry wine and Pilsner Urquel – especially in the hot summer.

14. What was your favourite band, film, or hobby as a teen?

I loved Sinead O‘Connor as a teen, Friday’s disco and the sweetness of doing nothing with my girl friends J.

15. Red wine or white?

Winter – red, summer – white wine.

16. Book or movie?

When younger a book, now a movie.

17. Morning person or night person?

Night person.

18. Which social issue do you feel most strongly about?

Violence, abuse, it is a very strong topic for me.

19. Buda or Pest side?

Buda for living, Pest for shopping.

20. What would you say is your personal motto?

Being normal is boring.
