The government has put out a tender worth a total 11.5 billion forints (EUR 37.8) to promote improvements at World Heritage sites in Hungary, Balázs Rákossy, state secretary at the economy ministry in charge of European Union funds, told MTI.

The number of guest nights spent in Hungarian hotels and guesthouses rose by an annual 5.3% to 4,379,000 in August, the Central Statistical Office (KSH) said. Guest nights spent by Hungarians climbed by 6.8% to 2,384,000, while foreign visitors spent 1,995,000 nights, up 3.6%.
