The government has put out a tender worth a total 11.5 billion forints (EUR 37.8) to promote improvements at World Heritage sites in Hungary, Balázs Rákossy, state secretary at the economy ministry in charge of European Union funds, told MTI.
As part of the GINOP economic and innovation programme, the scheme is aimed at “preserving, protecting and presenting” the sites with an emphasis on tourism involving “complex and interactive services”, the official said.
The tender accords with government aims to foster small and medium-sized companies, boost tourism demand and create jobs, Rákossy said.
