Prime Minister Viktor Orbán expressed concern over investigations the Romanian authorities have launched against Hungarian politicians in Transylvania and said there has been a general “reversal” in minority rights for ethnic kin in Romania. A committee formed to organise commemorations of the 60th anniversary of the 1956 Uprising next year held its inaugural meeting at the House of Terror Museum. Human Resources Minister Zoltán Balog told the committee that the government had desecrated the occasion in 2006, and that this must be made up for.
