The festival organised for the second time by the Palace of Arts and the Budapest Festival Orchestra seeks to find connections between Hungarian culture and the cultures of other countries through music. Italy will be the guest of honour at the 23rd Budapest Wine Festival to be held between Sept. 10 and 14 in the Buda Castle, with a spotlight on barolo, brunello, chianti, prosecco and more. Visitors can taste the wines of Italy’s main wine regions ranging from Piedmont to Sicily at the fiveday festival featuring more than two hundred of Hungary’s vineyards and wines as well.

In his cooperation with the Munich based ensemble Gitanes Blondes Giora Feidman chose a new path. So far his Klezmer line-ups were groups he put together himself and had them following his sound concepts. In Gitanes Blondes for the first time he met a grown band with their own particular handwriting – in Giora Feidman’s opinon the best Klezmer group, no doubt, he encountered so far.

This year’s Jewish Summer Festival held until Sept. 7 features music, literature, theatre, film and fine art, with a focus on the 70th anniversary of the Holocaust. Some 30 productions with more than 500 contributors at more than ten venues are featured in the week-long festival. In addition to Budapest, events are held in Gyöngyös, Pécs and Veszprém.

Budapest is currently hosting the 7th Art Moments Central European visual art festival in the capital's City Park, on the lake.
