The 60th anniversary of the 1956 Revolution is commemorated by a series of events at the Hungarian State Opera. Beside opera world premieres, ballet performances and symphonic concerts, exhibitions, international guest performances and an open day at the Opera House awaits audiences.

When a Hungarian offers to meet you at FÉL ÖT (half five) what time will you ink in your calendar: 4:30, 5:30, 16:30 or 17:30? Well, only the Germans and the Dutch would get it right, i.e. 4:30 while the British would read it as half past five, which would be FÉL HAT in Hungarian usage.

The aim is to give a new perspective on the dazzling variety of artworks held in the Museum of Applied Arts, which means that everything on display here comes from the Museum’s own collections.

Such changes include a multitude of complementary artistic achievements which, beyond processing the effects of crisis present in the world and society, have also come up with some positive messages.
