A remarkable Zsolnay vase was sold at auction in Budapest’s Virág Judit Gallery on Sunday for 19 million forints (EUR 62,700), setting a new record for the work of the renowned porcelain and stoneware maker.

With a few steps into another world, we had ‘Thai Days’ in the Central Market Hall. After the ‘Egyptian Days’, we could dive into the Thai atmosphere with some of the finest products and decorations from Thailand with which the Market Hall welcomed its visitors. This was another very interesting event as part of the 'Tourism Days' to show visitors a different part of the world.

By the 1890s many major European cities already had market halls, such as the famous Les Halles in Paris or Covent Garden in London, and others cities like Barcelona, Berlin, Florence and Lyons were to follow this trend. It was around this time that Budapest's councillors thought that the Hungarian capital should also have such a hall.
