The Hungarian Helsinki Committee and five civil organisations have warned of the dangers of "intentionally distorting" information on immigration ahead a parliamentary day of debate devoted to the topic. In an open letter sent to MTI, they said “the government practice” of using immigrants "to generate fear and create scapegoats" is dangerous.

According to general practitioner Zoltán Komáromi, Hungary’s healthcare system is on the brink of disaster. Low salaries and poor working conditions are causing doctors to either go abroad or work at private hospitals. More and more patients are choosing private health care over public for procedures that are important revenue generators for the public health care system.

Hungarian Olympic champion Krisztián Berki cannot participate in next week’s master pommel horse tournament organized in Békéscsaba due to injury. Berki just recently won his third world championship title of the sport, but he has been struggling with a reoccurring shoulder injury, and now doctors suggest considering surgery.
