Terror Museum Budapest Remembers Roma Heroes, Victims On Int’l Roma Day

The Roma heroes of Hungary’s 1956 anti-Soviet revolution and the Roma victims of the Holocaust will be remembered in the Budapest House of Terror museum on Friday, International Roma Day. Guests will launch a textbook presenting the history of the Roma Holocaust through personal accounts and memories to the Hungarian youth, director of research Márton Békés said.

Shooting can start in late May for a movie relating the story of the “whisky robber” Attila Ambrus, who held up numerous banks and post offices in the 1990s and once escaped jail. He earned his nickname by stopping for a glass of whisky before committing his robberies.
