Construction of the second phase of the Duna Medical Center, the largest private hospital in Hungary, has started in Budapest’s Ninth District, the owner announced. Work on the concrete skeleton that has sat idle on the Danube riverside for eight years will be resumed by construction company Épszerk Pannónia Invest.

Hungarian companies have shown a growing interest in business opportunities in Hong Kong and the Hungarian government hopes that similar interest can be sparked among Hong Kong firms in Hungarian investments, Economy Minister Mihály Varga said after holding talks with officials from Hong Kong in Budapest on Tuesday.

2015 was the third warmest year in Hungary since 1901, according to the National Weather Service. Last winter was the sixth warmest winter while the summer was the fourth warmest, the report said. The mean temperature in 2015 was 11.72 Celsius, only 0.2 degrees lower than in 2014, the hottest year.
Alitalia To Offer More Flights, Seats On Budapest Routes

Italian airline Alitalia announced that it would raise the number of its weekly Budapest flights from nine to ten, and operate aircraft on the routes with extended seat capacity, Hungarian chief of the airline Zsolt Nagy said yesterday, according to Hungarian news agency MTI.
Retail Sales Up 6.5% In February

The volume of retail sales in Hungary increased by 6.5% in February according to raw data and by 6.4% adjusted for calendar effects compared to the same period of last year, Hungary’s Central Statistical Office (KSH) said in a first release of data published.
