Retail Sales Up 6.5% In February

The volume of retail sales in Hungary increased by 6.5% in February according to raw data and by 6.4% adjusted for calendar effects compared to the same period of last year, Hungary’s Central Statistical Office (KSH) said in a first release of data published.
Adjusted for calendar effects, the volume of sales increased by 4.9% in specialized and non-specialized food shops, by 7.5% in non-food retail shops and by 9.1% in automotive fuel retailing, KSH noted.
According to KSH, the volume of retail sales, based on calendar adjusted data, was 4.3% higher from January–February, than in the same period a year earlier.
